Twee makers die audio, literatuur en animatie op een bijzondere manier combineren, twee bijzondere audio-animaties: één over een toevallige ontmoeting laat op de avond en één over de ruimtesonde Voyager en onze verhouding tot het Grootse.

Voyager
In 1990 maakt ruimtesonde Voyager I op ongeveer 6 miljard kilometer van de aarde –een recordafstand– de foto die later bekend zal komen te staan als 'The Pale Blue Dot'. Op die foto is de aarde te vinden als een minuscuul, bleek stipje omgeven door een overweldigend zwart. VOYAGER onderzoekt onze verhouding tot het Grootse. Het probeert woorden en beelden te geven aan het gevoel van nietigheid en de realisatie dat we als atomen door dit leven bewegen. Taal, muziek en sounddesign illustreren de paradoxale verbinding die we kunnen voelen tot het onmetelijke en de troost die we kunnen putten uit metafysische onzekerheid.

Two makers that combine audio, literature and animation in a special way, two special audio animations: one about a chance encounter late at night and one about space probe Voyager and how we relate to ‘the Great’.

Voyager
In 1990, at about 6 billion kilometers from Earth - a record distance-, space probe Voyager I took the photograph that would later come to be known as ‘The Pale Blue Dot’. In that photo, Earth can be found as a tiny, pale dot in an otherwise overwhelming blackness. VOYAGER explores our relationship to ‘the Great’. It attempts to give words and images to the feeling of nothingness and the realization that we move through this life as atoms. Language, music and sound design illustrate the paradoxical connection we can feel to the immeasurable and the comfort we can draw from metaphysical uncertainty.
